About the Event
We have within us thousands of voices and limitless possibilities. We are conditioned from childhood to sensor, control and shape our vocal responses into language and behaviour that is acceptable in our respective societies. But in order to touch freedom of vocal expression we have to unwind decades of conditioning and control. This is a full body and full psyche process that requires us to release, reconnect and reintegrate ourselves with our breath and voice. It begins with understanding what a free and natural breath is. When we reconnect to our natural breath, then we can then begin to learn where our voice lives within our bodies and we can physically experience sound; awaken sound vibrations within the body -resonating the bones and tissues- creating a visceral understanding of the voice and begin to touch our potential.
During this workshop we will explore fundamental exercises and extended vocal techniques designed to bring awareness of the process of creating sound in a healthy, visceral and completely embodied way. Our whole bodies may vibrate with sound. We will open many possibilities of sounding so that each participant may begin to discover the “many voices” we have inside and begin the process of creating with these voices through improvisation.
Space is limited to 10 participants!
