About the Event
They sing god in the midst of contradictions. They erase the course of Pentheus from the unholy to the sanctuary, from delusion to knowledge, from arrogance to suffering. They talk about Agave who, from ecstasy to madness, claiming the power of the female goddess falls down. The pulsating wildlife. They mourn the man who departs, the body that is detached. The remains of a body, the body without a body. They mourn for our little little pieces. A distance acrobatics, a circular need, a fight for the whole.
And my soul, other big and obvious, is happy to look for ...
the dance of Bacchus expresses the desire to communicate with the god Dionysus, a god mysterious, distant and accessible, distant and near, familiar and unfamiliar. Women of Lydia follow a priest of the god and bring with him the magic of Asia to Thebes who denies it. A world of music invades a logical world. It constantly disturbs him, enchants him, destroys him.
The female power, centuries submissive and the male longing drowning in guilt are liberated and united symbolically through a horrible and ecstatic sacrifice. The ritual quiet cry of the god Eoi Evan, which accompanies us to every celebration, becomes a virus, a cry of mourning as we resist the nature of things, as we enchant life - wanting to impose a sovereign man.
Sound is the axis through which we want to unlock aspects of this cryptic, multifaceted work.
